SKWAD Pulse · Live viewership
SKWAD Pulse
Pulse watches live YouTube viewership for esports broadcasts. It is built for the operations teams who run the broadcast and the event organisers they work with.
What Pulse does today
- 01
True Peak
Everyone watching the official feeds and co-streams at the same moment, without double-counting people who switch feeds.
- 02
Official feeds and co-streams, counted separately
The official broadcast and the co-streams each get their own totals, so it is clear what each one drew.
- 03
Re-streams shown, never counted
Pulse detects unofficial re-streams of the broadcast and shows them with their viewers. They are never added to True Peak.
- 04
Stream problems flagged to the crew
If a stream goes down while the event is live, Pulse opens an issue for the crew. Only a person closes it.
- 05
Post-event reports
When the broadcast ends, Pulse locks the record and produces the report, with a share link that works on a phone and a PDF.
- 06
Read-only access for organisers
Organisers sign in with their own account and see the numbers and reports. They cannot change anything.
Coming soon
These are being built. They are not in Pulse yet.
- ComingLanguage breakdown. Viewers by broadcast language, read from each stream's own title.
- ComingViewership trends by match. The audience curve lined up against each match's start and end times.
- ComingReadiness checks before each broadcast day. Pulse checks that every official stream is scheduled and ready to track before the day starts.
- ComingAutomatic report delivery. Day and event reports emailed to the organiser once an admin approves them.
How Pulse uses YouTube data
Pulse uses YouTube API Services. It reads public data through the YouTube Data API v3, from our servers, with an API key:
- public live-stream statistics: concurrent viewers, stream status, and scheduled and actual start and end times;
- public video and channel metadata, such as titles and channel names, to find the event's official streams and co-streams by keyword;
- public live-stream search results, to find unofficial re-streams.
Pulse does not post to YouTube and does not access anyone's YouTube account. It does not sell YouTube data or share it beyond the reports organisers receive.
By using Pulse you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. YouTube data is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy. Our Privacy policy explains what Pulse stores, for how long, and how to ask us to delete it.
YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC. Pulse is not endorsed by or affiliated with YouTube or Google.
Who it's for
Pulse is an invite-only internal tool for SKWAD broadcast crews and the event organisers they work with. There is no public sign-up: an admin sends each person a personal invite, and they sign in with a password and an authenticator app.
